Drone Schools in Connecticut

If you’re looking for drone schools in Connecticut, or universities that offer unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) degree programs, you may have to widen your search. Currently, the state doesn’t offer any. However, if you’re simply looking for a UAV certificate, you may be in luck…

Unmanned Vehicle University (while based in Arizona) offers drone training at a flight training center in Danbury, for its UAV Pilot Training Certificate program. And much of this program can be completed online.

The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) compiled a list of states that would benefit the most when drone use is legalized. Connecticut was ranked sixth. Very impressive, considering its population. The largest contributing factor to this high rank is that Lockheed Martin Corp., Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky and other aerospace companies already have a strong presence in the Constitution State. It would only make sense for the state’s institutions to train the additional workers that will be needed.

Otherwise, if you’re a Connecticut resident, you may have to seek drone classes in the nearby states of New York or Pennsylvania. For now.
