There are currently no drone schools in Maine, or colleges in the state that offer the opportunity to earn a UAV degree.
Maine’s colleges are not completely devoid of unmanned aerial vehicle classes, however. The University of Maine, for example, offers an Aeronautics class as part of its Mechanical Engineering degree program. The course description promises that “modeling and simulation of a selected UAV system will provide an exciting and comprehensive application of the skills developed in the course”.
If you live in the Pine Tree State and are set on a drone school, you might want to consider a trip across the Canadian border to Quebec. CQFA’s (Centre québécois de formation aéronautique) offers a hands-on 130 hour Light UAV Professional Pilot course, in Montreal. Otherwise, your closest option is New York.
